Race of the Day – 19:25 Kempton Park
There is quite a valuable prize money pot up for grabs in this one mile and three furlong handicap on the all-weather at Kempton tonight.
There are several recent winners in the field and this looks quite an open contest.
David Simcock has been amongst the winners recently, as can be seen from the green numbers 14 and 30 below his name. By clicking on the trainer icon below the horses name, we can see this in more detail. For the past 30 days, Simcock is 8/39 (20.51%) for a level stakes profit of 24.38. Below that we can see that he excels with his horses on the all-weather tracks, so he’s one to pay attention to.
There are a few sections of green dotted about on the Instant Expert tab, but Banish has four sections against his name and looks nicely suited by today’s racing conditions. He is seven pounds higher than for his last win, but all of his best form is away from the turf, therefore he looks a little overpriced to me at 9/1.
The Pace tab isn’t particularly revealing, with no real bias for any of the racing positions throughout the race. Horses that race prominently have the best overall record, but it isn’t by too much and not something to get hung up on.
Trainer Statistics is a hugely useful report as it can show certain characteristics of a trainer, and perhaps help to pinpoint more accurately where they obtain their winners.
James Fanshawe has an in incredibly good record here at Kempton over the past five years. His record is 69/316 (21.84%) for a level stakes profit of 53.75. He runs Sam Missile here today who is currently priced at 9/2.
