Race of the Day – 21 Nov

Race of the Day – 16:00 Chelmsford

This is a five furlong dash on the artificial surface at Chelmsford, and it is a useful looking race with over £22k to the winner.

Mick Easterly has two runners here today (Bowson Fred and Bosham) and he has an excellent record at the course. Over the past year he’s had 11 winners from 35 runners (34.38%) for a level stakes profit of 16.30. This detail and more, can be seen by clicking on the black trainer icon below the horses name.

When looking at the Instant Expert tab on the place setting, a few of the runners look particularly good.

One that really stands out is Bowson Fred. He has four sections of green and one of amber, and this is from quite a large number of runs, therefore it appears that he is in with a great chance of making the frame. It should be noted that he is ten pounds higher than for his last win however, so will need to be in great form to take this.

Early leaders have a quite brilliant record here over this distance, with over 34% going on to win the race for a level stakes profit of 128.27.

Guishan is a confirmed front runner and he may be fighting it with Aleef for the lead, who is also usually quick out of the stalls.

Bowson Fred is usually quite handy when he breaks well, and he has the highest score of the Speed Ratings, which over five furlongs, is particularly relevant.

Runners drawn towards the middle have the best record here. However, it does not appear to be a huge advantage from looking at the stats, so I wouldn’t want to discount a runner that ticked a lot of boxes, just because they were drawn on the extremities.
