Race of the Day – 13 Dec

Race of the Day – 14:10 Wincanton

This is quite a useful looking beginners chase with several of the top yards represented.

Fergal O’Brien and Paddy Brennan team up with the favourite Barney Dawn, and they have been in very good form of late. Over the past 30 days they’ve had 8 winners from 21 runners (38.10%) for a level stakes profit of 25.51.

With The Shortlist (free to all users on a Tuesday) on the place setting, Sir Ivan has a really good score of 13, with four sections of green and one of amber. He is having his first start over fences here today, therefore if his jumping is up to scratch then the race conditions appear to be in his favour. At a current price of 10/1, he looks to have a reasonable chance of at least making the frame.

With the Instant Expert tab on the place setting, we can see the good showing of Sir Ivan in comparison with the rest of the field. It is interesting to note that he has been placed in each of his three starts on this going and both times at the course.

Robinsfirth is another who shows up well here, with three sections of green and two of amber.

Early leaders here at this distance win a lot of races, with over 28% of them being victorious.

Greybougg is a confirmed front runner and looks very likely to take them along here today. He has a pace score that is easily the highest in the field and appears to have only one way of running.

Sir Ivan and Wishing And Hoping are quite prominent runners, and I think a lot will depend on how the fences are jumped by this group of novices.
