Race of the Day – 13:10 Thurles

This is a nice looking novice hurdle over almost two miles and seven furlongs with seven runners.

Willie Mullins has two in the field including the 5/4 favourite Battleford, who won his maiden last time out.

The other big player Gordon Elliott has the second favourite, The Storyteller, and he also looks a very useful recruit.

Billy’s Hope is a big outsider in this field, however he looks really good on the Instant Expert tab. He has four sections of green and hasn’t raced over this distance, so apart from that is very well suited by the majority of the race conditions here today. At 20/1 he is definitely worth a closer look, and is the only horse to have run at this course previosuly (and he won).

Electric Concorde and Battleford both like to be at the head of affairs, and it looks likely they will be jostling for the lead on this one. With both of them being keen to get on with things, this could be quite a strong pace for a small field, so the stamina will be tested to the full.
