Race of the Day – 16:20 Wolverhampton
This is a three year race over almost nine furlongs on the all weather at Wolverhampton, and the five runners are very closely matched on official ratings.
Both Moamar and Enfolding are making their handicap debuts today, and if you click on the blue ‘HC1’ next to their names, it will take you to a report which details how well their respective trainers do with such horses.
Ed Dunlop trains Mormar and over half of his handicap debutants for the past year have been placed, for a level stakes profit of 4.95. This appears to show that Dunlop is quite astute at placing these runners.
The Shortlist is the report which is free to all users on a Tuesday, and Poetic Justice can be seen sitting nicely at the top of it today, with a perfect score of 15. He is very well suited by the race conditions here and looks likely to go very close.
The Instant Expert tab highlights the good showing of Poetic Force, and also shows that he is just two pounds higher than when winning last time out.
Moamar hasn’t raced at this course before or in such a small field, however his other three sections are all green and he also tops the Speed Ratings.
Leaders here over this distance do have an advantage, but it is not as pronounced as in some cases, with a little over 15% of them winning their races, for a large level stakes loss.
Party Tiger appears the most likely to go off in front, but with such a small field there could easily be a muddling kind of pace and the race could turn out to be very tactical.
