Race of the Day – 1 Feb

Race of the Day – 15:50 Kempton Park

This is a fillies’ handicap being run over seven furlongs on the artificial surface at Kempton.

Marco Botti has been in excellent form of late, as can be seen by the green 14 and 30 below his name. If you click on the black trainer icon below the horses name, you will be able to see this in more detail. Over the past 30 days, he’s had four winners (18.18%) and 13 places (59.09%) for level stakes profits of 26.33 and 51.31, which is really good going. He runs Wahiba here today, who is the highest rated on the Speed Ratings.

Garter is the short priced favourite at around 6/4, and she has three sections of green on the Instant Expert report. She has won over course and distance, but does find herself seven pounds higher than for her last victory, and she was unable to cope with that weight last time out at Lingfield.

Lucymai is probably next best here, with three sections of amber and one of green.

When looking at the Pace tab, it shows that leaders here over this distance have a useful record, with 16.32% on them winning, for a level stakes profit of 79.67. This is from a very large sample so there is a definite bias towards those that get away quickly.

Wahiba has been quick out of the stalls on her last two runs and East Coast Lady is a confirmed front runner. She was awkward in the stalls last time out which meant she was slowly away that time, however generally she is a quick breaker and heads straight to the front.

David Brown has a very good looking record here at Kempton Park, with five winners and ten places from his last 37 runners, which have yielded extremely impressive level stakes profits of 38.50 and 33.28 respectively. He runs Jacquotte Delahaye here today, who has slipped down the handicap to a very attractive looking mark, if able to rediscover some of her old form.
