Stat of the Day, 18th February 2017.

Friday’s Result :

16:15 Sandown : Twenty Eight Guns @ 11/4 BOG Non Runner

Friday’s pick goes in the…

15:50 Haydock

Before I post the daily selection, just a quick reminder of how I operate the service. Generally, I’ll identify and share the selection in the evening before the following day’s race and I then add a detailed write-up later on that night/next morning.

Those happy to take the early price on trust can do so, whilst some might prefer to wait for my reasoning. As I fit the early service in around my family life, I can’t give an exact timing on the posts, so I suggest you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for instant notifications of a published pick.

Who?

The Worlds End 3/1 BOG

Why?

The Worlds End is a lightly raced six year old gelding, who is chasing a hat trick after staying on nicely in both races, which were over 19 furlongs. He shaped as if the extra distance may well bring out further improvement, and the breeding franks that suggestion.

He beat Testify nicely last time out, who has since gone on to win a reasonable race over a longer distance, so the form has been franked.

The following stats back up his case.

  • she is 2/2 (100%) on today’s going for 5 pts
  • trainer Tom George is in good form, with 5/17 (29.41%) over the last 14 day for 10.75 pts
  • he’s 8/36 (22.22%) at Haydock over the last five years for 11 pts
  • with LTO winners George is 25/93 (26.88%) for 1.94 pts
  • jockey Adrian Heskin is 4/20 (20%) over the last 14 days for 3.42 pts
