Race of the Day – 15:10 Leicester
This is quite a nice looking hunters’ chase at Leicester, with a couple of the bigger yards represented.
Rebel Rebellion runs for Paul Nicholls, and he has been in very good form recently, as can be seen by the green ’14’ and ’30’ below his name. When looking at his form in more detail (you can do this by clicking on the black trainer icon below the horses name), we can see that it is really quite rare that Nicholls has a runner here at Leicester. Over the past five years he’s had just the seven runners, however from those seven there have been four winners and six places. Rebel Rebellion is the top rated in the field today by 12 pounds, and looks to have an excellent chance.
The Shortlist is a very useful report for showing runners that are well suited by the conditions of the race in question, and it is free to all users on a Tuesday.
Penmore Hill has an excellent score of 12, with four sections of green and only the field size being grey. He has won one out of four races in relative field sizes, so this isn’t something that I would be too bothered about, and at around 9/1, he looks to be decent value from what we have seen so far.
The Instant Expert tab shows the nice line of green for Penmore Hill, with one section of amber.
Another runner that really stands out here is Rebel Rebellion, who also has four sections of green. He has never raced here at Leicester before, which isn’t surprising given he is trained by Paul Nicholls, so his stats on this report look really impressive.
There is not a a large enough sample to ascertain a running style preference for this distance at Leicester, however, it looks very likely that Toby Lerone, Galway Jack and Rebel Rebellion will be at the head of affairs in the early part of the race.
The field appears to be split in two, with half of the field very keen to get on with things, and the other half content to sit and wait to see how things pan out.
