Stat of the Day, 9th March 2017

Wednesday’s Result :

4.30 Lingfield : Make Music @ 13/2 BOG (5.2/1 after R4) WON at 11/4 Made most, ridden over 1f out, headed, rallied and ran on to win gamely by a neck.

Thursday’s pick goes in the…

7.45 Newcastle…

Before I post the daily selection, just a quick reminder of how I operate the service. Generally, I’ll identify and share the selection in the evening before the following day’s race and I then add a detailed write-up later on that night/next morning.

Those happy to take the early price on trust can do so, whilst some might prefer to wait for my reasoning. As I fit the early service in around my family life, I can’t give an exact timing on the posts, so I suggest you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for instant notifications of a published pick.

War Department10/3 BOG

A 4 yr old gelding who was a winner here over course and distance by a length and a quarter having been eased down by today’s jockey with seemingly more to give.

Trainer Keith Dalgleish’s A/W handicappers priced at 12/1 and shorter are 77/469 (17.7% SR) for 48.3pts (+10.8% ROI) since 2011, of which…

  • males are 65/356 (18.3%) for 35.5pts (+10%)
  • those racing over 7f ar 20/97 (20.6%) for 52.3pts (+53.9%$)
  • and males over 7f = 19/86 (22.1%) for 5.3pts (+64.4%)

And in addition to the above, Keith’s very good at getting LTO winners to win again with those priced shorter than 12/1 winning 39 of 150 (26% SR) follow-up races for profits of 46.1pts (+30.75% ROI) since the start of 2015, with those racing over the same course and distance as LTO winning 10 of 23 (43.5%) for 26pts (+113.2%)

P.S. all returns quoted are to Betfair SP, as (i) I NEVER bet to ISP and neither should you and (ii) although inferior to the BOG odds we secure, BFSP is the nearest approximation I can give, so I actually expect to beat the returns quoted.
