Race of the Day – 29 Mar

Race of the Day – 17:55 Kempton Park

This is a six furlong handicap being run over six furlongs on the all weather at Kempton, for horses rated 0-60.

Sir Harry Collins is the current favourite and he is rated quite a long way clear on the Speed Ratings. His jockey, Joshua Bryan who claims three pounds, has been in useful form of late and has been placed in over 60% of his races from the last 30 days.

We need to switch the Instant Expert report to the ‘Place’ setting to see anything that isn’t red, and even then it is just sporadic sections of amber.

Sir Harry Collins has the only section of green, and that is for Class.

This goes to highlight that this is probably quite a poor race, and won’t take a lot of winning.

From looking at the Pace report we can see that leaders here over this distance have a very good record, with nearly 18% of them winning their race, for a levels stakes profit of 89.06. This is from a very large sample of runners as well (1,007), so it is a definite advantage to be at the front early on here.

This is confirmed by the fact that prominent runners are next best, with a little under 13% of them winning. Horses that are mid division or held up, do not anywhere near as well on average.

The Trainer Statistics report is free to all users on a Wednesday, and today it shows what a good record Harry Dunlop has here at Kempton over the last five years. He’s had 18 winners (11.46%) and 44 places (28.03%) from 157 runners for level stakes profits of 46.26 and 33.91 respectively.

He runs Fun Raiser here today who is making her handicap debut, and in a race that is very open, could easily grab at least a place if she has anything about her.
