Race of the Day – 17:10 Fontwell Park
This is a conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle over two miles and three furlongs, on good ground at Fontwell Park, in what is a very open looking race.
Neil Mulholland, who runs Cornish Warrior here today, has a very good record with his runners at Fontwell. Over the past five years he’s had 29 winners (23.77%) from 122 runners for a level stakes profit of 10.96. You can see this detail by clicking the black trainer icon below the horses name.
Boston De La Roche is racing for Dan Skelton for the first time day, as can be seen by the blue letters TC, after the horses name. Skelton seems to do particularly well when inheriting horses from other yards, which can be seen by clicking on the ‘TC’. Over the past five years he’s had 41 winners (28.28%) and 77 places (53.10%) from 145 runners, for level stakes profits of 30.68 and 45.84 respectively. This is excellent going, and if he is able to get Boston De La Roche ready after a very long break, who could prove to be a big danger.
There aren’t too many sections of green when looking at the Instant Expert tab, and in fact Cornish Warrior is the only runner in the field to have two.
Prouts Pub has won twice from five runs here at Fontwell, and is also eight pounds lower than for his last win. The drop back in distance should be in his favour and he could be a little over priced if returning to form.
Leaders here over this distance have a particularly good record, with almost 20% of them going on to win the race, for a level stakes profit of 48.87.
There are no real confirmed front runners in this field meaning there is a chance of a falsely run race.
Clondaw Bisto has the highest pace score based on their last four runs, however he didn’t lead any of those races early on.
Trainer Statistics is the report that is free to all users on a Wednesday, and here it shows what excellent form Ian Williams has been in over the last month. He’s had 12 winners (26.67%) and 16 places (35.56%) from 45 runners for level stakes profits of 23.46 and 12.60 respectively. He runs Sunnytahliateigan here today.
