Race of the Day – 13:50 Chester
This is a good looking handicap over almost a mile, and it has attracted a very useful looking field.
The Sir Michael Stoute trained El Hayem is the current favourite at around 11/4, and he is clearly the highest on the Speed Ratings. He is clearly a highly regarded four year old, but I’m not sure he has done enough so far in his career to justify such a short price in a very competitive race. However, Stoute and jockey Andrea Atzeni have been in very good form of late, and Stoute has a good long term record here at Chester.
Hillbilly Boy is at the top of the handicap, and when looking at the Instant Expert report, he looks very well suited by today’s conditions. He has three sections of green and two of amber, including being placed 4/4 here at Chester. He is however seven pounds higher than for his last win, but with conditions in his favour, I expect a big run at a nice price.
Sound Advice is another who comes out well here, and he is also one pound lower than for his last victory, therefore if a return to favourable conditions bring out his best form, he’s another who I think is overpriced.
The Pace report shows that early leaders here over this distance have a good record, with 15.79% of them going on to win the race, for a level stakes profit of 24.03.
Several runners in this field are usually very fast away from the stalls and like to lead, therefore this looks as though it could be a very strongly run race.
Horses For Courses is available to all users on a Friday, and it is an excellent report for highlighting courses where particular horses excel.
Sound Advice has raced around Chester five times, winning three of them, for a level stakes profit of 16.00. The ground is also perfect for him today, he is drawn in stall eight which is fine, and has a very good chance of making the frame.
