Race of the Day – 14:30 Beverley
This is a seven furlong handicap at Beverley, being run on good to firm ground.
Deansgate is a consistent horse without having shown the ability to get his head in front. He has slipped to an attractive looking mark however, and his trainer (Julie Camacho) has some useful figures. She has been in good current form, has very nice figures here at Beverley, but most telling, she does exceptionally well with her runners over the sprint distances. In this sphere she has had 22 winners (15.94%) and 51 places (36.96%) from 138 runners, for level stakes profits of 38.41 and 35.83 respectively.
The Mark Johnston trained Yorkee Mo Sabee has the highest Speed Rating with a score of 70, and he was a good second here last time out over a mile, when he just faded towards the finish. A repeat of that run would surely see him go close over this shorter distance, and from the same mark.
The Shortlist Report is available to all registered users on a Tuesday, and Fine Example is there with a score of 11. He has three sections of green and two of amber, showing that he is very well suited by today’s conditions and should go well. He was a course and distance winner in May, which was also on today’s going. He is just the three pounds higher than for that win, so looks to have every chance.
Fine Example is confirmed as the most suited by today’s race when looking at the Instant Expert, as there are only sporadic sections of green elsewhere.
Murdanova has two sections of green (Distance and Field), but has a very poor record in this Class of race (0/11), and has only been placed three times out of those 11 races.
The Pace report shows that early leaders here over this distance have a brilliant record, with 24.55% of them winning the race, for a level stakes profit of 252.83.
Four runners have very similar pace scores, and these are Yorkee Mo Sabee, Talent Scout, Make On Madam and Fine Example. They are all drawn towards the centre, which is the favoured position here over this distance, so look to have a definite advantage if breaking away cleanly.
From what we have looked at above, that would leave me with a shortlist of Yorkee Mo Sabee and Fine Example as runners who I think have the best chance of taking this.
