Stat of the Day, 7th August 2017

Saturday’s Result :

19:00 Hamilton – Kinglami @ 4/1 BOG 4th Prominent, ridden over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong op 9/4

Monday’s pick goes in the…

15:45 Ripon

Before I post the daily selection, just a quick reminder of how I operate the service. Generally, I’ll identify and share the selection in the evening before the following day’s race and I then add a detailed write-up later on that night/next morning.

Those happy to take the early price on trust can do so, whilst some might prefer to wait for my reasoning. As I fit the early service in around my family life, I can’t give an exact timing on the posts, so I suggest you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for instant notifications of a published pick.

Bossipop @ 3/1 BOG

Bossipop was a fine winner last time out at Pontefract, where he seemed to have more than a little in hand that day, and this nice looking four-year-old still appears to be on the upgrade enough to cope with the six pounds rise in the weights that he received for that win.

He is an extremely consistent horse, especially when having conditions to suit, which he looks sure to have today. I expect David Allan to attempt to make all again, at a course that suits front runners.

The following stats back up today’s selection:

  • trainer Tim Easterby for the past 30 days is 22/141 (15.6%) for 34.5 pts
  • jockey David Allan over the last 30 days is 16/79 (20.25%) for 36.25 pts
  • Bossipop when racing over six furlongs is 3/13 (23.08%) for 18 pts
  • on today’s going of good to soft he is 1/4 (25%) for 5 pts
  • here at Ripon he is 1/4 (25%) for 9 pts

P.S. all P/L returns quoted in the stats above are to Betfair SP, as I NEVER bet to ISP and neither should you. I always use BOG bookies for SotD, wherever possible, but I use BFSP for the stats as it is the nearest approximation I can give, so I actually expect to beat the returns I use to support my picks. If that’s unclear, please ask!
