Treaty Of Rome makes it onto The Shortlist with a score of 11 and looks well suited to the racing conditions here today. He has three sections of green and two of amber, so if he is able to cope with his current handicap mark then I think he has a great chance.
From the racecard, if we take a look at the current form of Treaty Of Rome, it shows us that he appears far more at home here at Southwell that he does on the turf, or even the all weather at Chelmsford.
His overall record shows his preference for the all weather courses, where he is showing a level stakes profit from ten races.
Expanding the trainer and jockey form from the racecard tab it highlights that both Derek Shaw and Lewis Edmunds have a good record here at Southwell. Over the past year, Shaw has sent out 11 winners (19.30%) and 19 places (33.33%) from 57 winners, for level stakes profit of 84.75 and 84.34 respectively.
It is interesting to note that he is also showing a small level stakes profit in handicap races and this is from a sample of 484 runners.
Lewis Edmunds has won a third of his races here over there last year and this is showing an Impact Value of 2.86. Edmunds is claiming a very useful three pounds which I am hoping can make the difference in a competitive race.
With the Full Form filter selecting the wins only, we can see that all three of them have come here at Southwell, the last of them over today’s distance in April. He is six pounds higher than for that win, however, I think the return to what is clearly his favourite track can see him run a big race at a current price of around 6/1.
