The twelve-year-old Rowdy Rocher makes it onto The Shortlist today with a score of 11, having three sections of green and two of amber.
He reverts to three miles again and looks well suited to conditions in this handicap hurdle.
Rowdy Rocher has been below par in his last couple of races, however, they were over a distance that appears to be inadequate and he goes up to three miles today which should suit him far better.
He won two races in tough conditions are the start of last year (including over course and distance) and relishes a slog through the mud.
Sandy Thompson has been among the winners recently, having five winners (27.78%) and 11 places (61.11%) from 18 runners, for level stakes profits of 16.00 and 21.08 respectively and an Impact Value of 2.51.
He also has a good record with horses coming back from a break of 60+ days, having a strike rate of 21.67% for 21.82 points and an Impact Value of 2.30.
When moving his horses up in distance, his strike rate increases to 29.17%.
The Instant Expert report shows how well suited Rowdy Rocher is to today’s conditions, and he is just the five pounds heavier than for his last victory.
A few other runners in this field also appear to like these racing conditions and have a few sections of green.
Is it just a small sample on the Pace report, but Prominent runners and horses that are held up have the best records here over this distance.
Rowdy Rocher is usually held up in the early part of his races and going over the extra distance here today I would imagine that Rachel McDonald will likely do the same here.
