Race of the Day – 16 February 2018

Race of the Day – 14:35 Lingfield

Horses For Courses is the report that is available to all users on a Friday, and it shows what an excellent record Miss Minuty has when racing at Lingfield. She has had four wins and places (57.14%) from seven runs here, for level stakes profits of 23.88 26.35 respectively.

She goes in a ten-furlong handicap here today and what looks like a competitive race.

The recent form of Miss Minuty has been great, with three wins from her last four races. She does have another three pounds to contend with today after winning over a mile here two weeks ago but is clearly in brilliant form and I expect another bold showing from here in this.

She also appears to be far more at home racing on the all-weather surfaces compared with on the turf tracks.

Jeremy Scott has been in terrific form recently with plenty of winners. Over the past 30 days, he’s had six winners (30%) and eight places (40%) from 20 runners, for level stakes profits of 19.38 and 20.90 respectively and an Impact Value of 2.53.

His record with last time out winners is also encouraging, and from his last 47 such runners, he’s had 14 winners (29.79%) for 6.73 points and an Impact Value of 1.58.

Jockey Jason Watson has ridden a few winners over the past month and has an excellent record here at Lingfield. During the last year, he’s had six winners and places (33.33%) from 18 runners, for level stakes profits of 31.38 and 28.27 respectively and an Impact Value of 2.84.

The Instant Expert report shows that Miss Minuty is reasonably well suited by today’s conditions, having two sections of green and two of amber. Along with Tom’s Rock, she appears the best suited in this field and as mentioned earlier, is three pounds higher than for her last victory.

The Pace report shows that early leaders here over this distance have the best record, with 16.09% of them going on to win the race. This is just an amber pace ‘blob’ though so the bias isn’t that large.

Miss Minuty is generally held up through her races and produced late on, which is likely to be the way that Watson rides here again today.
