Race of the Day – 19:45 Chelmsford

The Trainer Snippets report shows that Derek Shaw has a great record with last time out winners. From his last 51 such runners, he’s had 11 winners (21.57%) and 20 places (39.22%), for level stakes profits of 9.83 and 1.76 respectively and an Impact Value of 1.14.

He runs Dynamo Walt in a five-furlong dash at Chelmsford this evening and he was a winner last time out over this distance at Newcastle.

Dynamo Walt kept on really nicely at Newcastle to win there a couple of weeks ago and has to carry an extra three pounds today due to that win.

He has the highest Speed Rating in this field which is particularly relevant over the shortest trip.

The Instant Expert report shows that Dynamo Walt is just reasonably well suited to today’s conditions, having four sections of amber and one of red. There are others in the field that look better suited to this race, but no horse that really stands out.

From looking at the Pace report we can see that early leaders here over this distance have an excellent record, with 26.32% of them going on to win the race, for a level stakes profit of 1.92.

Dynamo Walt is usually held on to and waited with but it will be interesting to see if they try a more forceful ride given the advantage this track appears to give to horses that are right up with the pace.
