The Shortlist is the report that is available to all registered users on a Tuesday, and Inshiraah makes it on there at Newmarket today with a good score of 12. She has four section of green and one of grey (Field), showing she appears nicely suited to these conditions.
She runs in a seven-furlong handicap that looks wide open with 17 runners.
The form of Inshirrah last summer was excellent, seeing her win three of her last four races. The final two were in strong handicaps over course and distance and she seems to be at home in the good to soft conditions.
She has been off the track for 262 days and races from ten pounds higher than last time out, however, it would be no surprise to see her progression continue and be competitive in this.
Trainer George Peckham has an excellent record with last time out winners. From his last 12 such runners, he’s had five winners (41.67%) and seven places (58.33%), for level stakes profits of 6.50 and 7.39 respectively and an Impact Value of 2.20.
His strike rate also increases dramatically in handicaps, where he is 12/78 (15.38%) for 3 points and an Impact Value of 1.50.
Harry Bentley appears to enjoy riding at Newmarket and has a good record over the past year. He’s ridden 13 winners (18.84%) and 28 places (40.58%) from 69 runners, for level stakes profits of 4.25 and 2.75 respectively and an Impact Value of 1.77.
The Instant Expert report highlights the good showing of Inshirrah, and he looks better suited to today’s conditions that any of his rivals (hence being on The Shortlist).
Only a few of this field has been successful on good to soft going, which I think could prove quite important.
The Pace report has too small an amount of data on to draw a meaningful conclusion regarding running style.
There doesn’t appear to be any real out and out front-runner in this field, but having 17 runners it is likely to be a fast pace regardless.
Inshiraah is normally held up towards the rear of the field so hopefully, Bentley can get her into a good position for the final couple of furlongs.
