Just four runners in the usually truncated Christmas week and although the bare results don’t show it, three of them ran pretty decent races.
Thankfully we managed a winner which guaranteed profit on the week and the cherry on the icing was the 3.5pts drift out to 7/1 on that winner, proving that drifters CAN win! (regular readers will know what I mean)
The bottom line is this…December WILL finish in profit and 2018 will show a surplus of at least 10 points. These numbers aren’t what we’re used to, but I’m still moderately happy to have turned an albeit small profit in a year that has seen many tipping services struggle with quite a few shutting down as a result.
Our MO is tried and tested and we’ll be back in 2019 aiming to return to the usual 50pts plus for the year. A quick look at 2018’s number suggests I’m roughly 1 winner per month shy of par, based on our average return of 3.5pts per winner. So, whilst we’re close to where we should be, it does highlight the fine margins I have work in!
One more to run this year, so I’ll hope to sign off with a New Year’s Eve winner for you and that selection will be online on Sunday evening as usual.
So, from myself (Chris), Matt & all behind the scenes at Geegeez, SotD would like to thank you for your continued support and patience and we’d also like to wish you a happy, healthy and wealthy New Year.
